Hazel Lake

Full description

The Hazel Lake is the little brother of the Bear Lake and it is situated in a more picturesque sinkhole, at a distance of 60 m West of the Bear Lake. It owes its existence to the fact that the water which flowed out of the Bear Lake flooded the salt-pit, situated on a 4 m lower level, which was the  property of the Măgherani/Nyárádmagyarós village people (this is where the Hungarian name of the lake comes from).
The surface of this lake is 3670 m2, while the greatest depth is 7,4 m. It is not a heliothermic lake, its water is cold and in the summer its temperature is quite pleasant, suitable for swimming. It opens its gates for the public quite early, to the great joy of many people.
